 October 2009

S.A.S.S. is a newly started group for women Louise of "Ez Lady" started a S.A.S. program in LaPaz .
The "Admirals" will be able to flow between the 2 harbors sharing thoughts and staying connected.
This group welcomes ALL women who are in the area..... land or sea ....... large vessel or Dinghy.
Some of the topics that are discussed range from how do I get my loved one and boat safely back
to the harbor, "Man" overboard do I save him or ..... to recipes and daily tips.

Old and new friends returning to the sea for another season is always reason for a get together
and party. Also the HPYC club house is becoming a real club house with memorabilia  being set
around and hung.

With the passing of "Jimena" the weather was looking like it would start a cooling trend; the
humidity started to drop. Until..... "Hurricane Rick" formed closed to Acapulco advancing to a
category 5 hurricane.  Many had returned from the summer escape only to find "Rick" might be
heading towards the Baja. Rick was the largest hurricane since "Linda" in 1997.  Everyone was
very relieved when Rick dropped in force and changed his course missing the southern tip
completely. When he made landfall on the mainland he was only a tropical storm.

            September  2009

September 2nd  along came "Jimena"  after the clean up many who had been harbor bond escaped
to the many islands or found other activities to pass the warm afternoons as seen in
"
Around the Harbor".

  July/August 2009

After the Hidden Port Yacht Club sponsored Loreto Fest, everything stated to go into the lazy
kick back summer mode. This summer season finds many cruisers enjoying the clear warm waters
of the sea. The snorkeling,  diving,of the clear have been outstanding. A month early all are
looking for cool places to spend their afternoons trying to  find some relief from the heat and
humidity.
